Water

Climatic conditions, in particular low rainfall patterns over large parts of Australia during the past decade, have highlighted both the need for action and the many challenges involved in the efficient, secure and sustainable management and stewardship of our water resources.

To help address these challenges, the Water Program will focus on a range of issues including the ongoing structural and regulatory reform of the rural water sector, the development of urban water markets and an examination of ways to facilitate the efficient use of water from multiple sources including storm water and recycled water.
